Durian is a tropical fruit, harvest in Southeast Asia and is famously known as The King of Fruits. With a robust and distinctive taste, the fruit may look spiky on the outside, but it is sweet on the inside. Some people can't stand the pungent smell, but many, love and appreciate the unique, intense flavor of the fruit! For Durian lovers, it's a delicacy and great pleasure to enjoy fresh, tasty, premium durians. Singaporeans love durians! (At least the vast majority) With Durian sellers across the island, we can enjoy our favorite durians throughout the year. Since my teens, I always loveeee durians! (Yes, I have sweet tooth, lol) My personal favourite are, Mao Shan Wang (Musang King), D24 and Red Prawn. I recently tried some Durians from Durian SG Prime and wow! It's one of the best I have tasted so far. The durians are high quality with a smooth, creamy texture and the fragrance is irresistible! Just look at the bright yellow durian meat, most of the seeds are flat so you can enjoy the thick, fleshy durian meat. So satisfying and damn shiok! :D Fresh, 'addictive' and finger licking good! :) When I took the first bite..Mmmm, it's Power! The deep aroma of the durians linger in every bite and the creamy durian meat melts in the mouth and you just want more...even my kids who hardly eat durians love it! and yeah, durians taste even better when you eat it with your family, friends and loved ones! The Old Tree Mao Shan Wang has a darker yellow tone with a smooth, custard texture and a stronger sweet taste, while Black Gold has a more complex, musty, bittersweet aftertaste that most durian connoisseurs would love! Having the extra hours to myself is a luxury of freedom that I've been waiting for so long... This year, both my kids are in the same school, it's such a bliss when I have the morning hours to myself. Parenting is exhausting, demanding and relentless, so it's important for Mommies to have some "Me-Time" and practice daily self-care to maintain healthy physical and mental well-being. Here are some Self-Care tips and my personal advice for busy moms : Be Organized. (Plan a daily/weekly routine.) It's never easy balancing work and family life but with proper time management and good routines, you can get the jobs done on schedule. Prioritize the important tasks and set a daily/weekly to-do list for work, kids, couple time, family bonding, house chores. This will help organize your daily tasks productively. Don't overwork. The truth is, work is never ending, always remember to spend time with your family at the end of the day. For me, my children and my family is my top priority. I am grateful that I am financially stable and I get to schedule my work at my own pace being a work at home mom and a private music teacher. It's a win win situation and the best arrangement for my family and my kids are happy when Mummy can spend more time with them. Take Catnap.( 30 - 45mins) A power nap during mid-day is a great booster! It allows our body & mind to relax and recharge. When we have enough rest, we feel more energetic, refreshed and function better. Enjoy Your Favorite Food / Drinks Food are great comfort and pleasure! (Oh yeah, lol) During those busy days, I hardly have time to sit down comfortably to enjoy a warm, decent meal, it's usually a quick bite or instant food, but now i can finally enjoy my lunch slowly, eating my favorite sushi in my snoopy pajamas! Talk To A Close Friend. Calls Text, Face-time! Deep conversations/chatting with a good friend is comforting and heartwarming. It feels so much better after we release our emotions, Everyone need a good listener, someone who understand the situations and never judge. If you have a close friend who is willing to listen to your endless rants with patience and kindness. Cherish the friendship! True friends are blessings! Beauty and Skincare Routine. Pamper yourself and be nice to your body. Take a long bath, style up your hair, get a new outfit and do anything that make you feel beautiful. Looking good makes you feel attractive and confident. Fashion and grooming shouldn't stop after you became a mother. When is the last time you paint your nails? do your hair and make-up? or visit the spa and salons? Time to indulge and pamper yourself some tender, loving, care....You truly deserve it. Mummy! ;) Listen To Music, Sing, Dance and Tiktok Music is the best therapy! Whenever I feel vexed and under the weather, I would sing out loud, dance, make random tiktok videos. I like playing my Ukulele & guitar, and I feel much better instantly. Music is like a magic pill for me and it never fail to lighten up my mood! I firmly believe that Music has the power to inspire, to heal and to connect emotions. I have been through many tough time & setbacks in life and music has always been there for me, it's been a big part of my life and you can't go wrong with music! (Turn up the volume!) Stay Calm and Control Your Emotions.(Protect Your Peace) At times, random news, places, events and people may trigger conflicts and drama. Keep your cool and take it easy. Be wise and choose your battles, not everything require your response and reaction. You don't have to prove anything or seek validations from anyone. Take care of you mental health. Self-Control is strength and power. Walk away from negativity and bad vibes. Sometimes, PEACE is better than being right. It's OK To Not Feel OK Some days are tough and insane, but it's normal to experience frustration, disappointments and meltdowns, we are all humans, it's perfectly OK to have nasty emotions but don't let negative thoughts stay for too long. Divert your thoughts, your visions and focus on the positivity in every situation. Every Problem Has A Solution! Remember Mummies, listen to your body and don't be too hard on yourself, it's never selfish to take a break and rest. You have done a great job for the family and you don't need to be a wonder woman to save the world or complete all the tasks. Take one day at a time, Ok? Self-care is the best care, understand that you need to replenish your energy, you can't serve from an empty cup so always take care of yourself first. Take the time To Chill, Relax and Refresh! :) If you are a fashionista who loves shopping, getting new apparels and accessories is always a pleasure! :)

Written by - Mommywarrior77 (Mandy Law) Social media is a virtual community and network that provides great source of information, news, trends, interests, entertainments and more, it's also a resourceful marketing tool to promote businesses/brands, awareness and connect the world, however, it can be a dangerous place if things get out of hands when the contents you share may lead to some nasty situations. Bloggers like myself, content creators, influencers, online business owners are active on social media everyday and our contents are shared publicly for better engagements and exposure to our audience, that's the nature of the industry. Sometimes, it can be quite challenging to post great contents...My 3 golden rules are, be mindful, respectful and tactful. Here's my personal tips and advice on 10 things not to post on social media (* This is solely my personal thoughts and opinions) 1. Personal Data I'm sure everyone knows never to share personal information but sometimes you may overlook the smallest details on some pictures that show your home address, ID, car plate and mobile numbers etc, so always check carefully before you post anything online. 2. Family / Children Pictures Call me a protective mom, (I know I am lol!) Ok, I'm little discreet and I value privacy A LOT! I don't share my family/children photos on my social media publicly for safety reasons, I love my 2 sweethearts and I am so tempted to share their cute lovely photos, but I would prefer to share my kiddos pictures only with my family/relatives, closest friends or private chat groups but never in a public setting. You never know who is spying, checking your profiles and saving your photos. 3 Do Not Discuss Sensitive Topics Personally, I would avoid posting anything related to religions, races and politicians on social media. These 3 topics are highly sensitive that may trigger unnecessary tensions and provoking debates, so it's wise to stay away at all costs. Don't get yourself into troubles. (Nuffsaid!) 4. Don't Post Adults Contents Every social media channels forbid nudity, violence and obscene contents, those posts will be removed, flagged and banned for violating the community guidelines. Such contents may even went viral and could expose to minors. 5. Avoid Hateful and Offensive Comments Everyone has different perspectives and beliefs. It's important to respect everyone equally, perhaps you might thought it was a joke or a harmless remark, but not everyone feel the same way. Acknowledge everyone's emotions and treat others the way you like to be treated! We can always agree to disagree and settle the disputes in harmony. Never condone cyber-bulling, trolling and keyboards warriors. There is nothing cool about bullying, shaming and being passive aggressive. No one ever look good, making someone look bad! 6. Fake News We all make this mistake, I'm sure many of us are eager to share the latest news with our family and friends but before you hit the send button, make sure the information are updated from reliable source before you share it on public platforms. You don't want to cause false alarm and more anxiety. 7. Personal Stories/Events Don't share your break-up stories, family problems, relationships, financial or work issues etc. I hate to say this people, but the fact is, very few people actually care, some are just curious and the vast majority can't be bothered. Instead of seeking comfort and support, some people may be mocking and gossiping about your problems. Some things are best to stay private, behind closed doors. Don't overshare details since people can't solve your problems anyway. Talk to a trusted friend instead but refrain from sharing too much personal life on social media. A private life is a happy life! :) 8. Don't Post Without Other's Consent Some documents are strictly private and confidential for corporate or individual, it could be personal emails, invoices, contracts, discussions that should never be shared with a third party or anyone. It is a basic courtesy and integrity. Even if you are not in contact with the person/companies/organisations anymore, it should still remain private and confidential. Be professional and respectful. 9. Spamming and Hard Selling Spams are annoying and hard-sell strategies are big turn-off for audience. It only project desperation and a poor image. Do not keep tagging accounts to help you promote your business, unless the person is aware and there is a mutual agreement to support your product campaigns and business ventures. 10. Limit Selfies and Don't Over Post Your Achievements Understand that not everyone will clap for your success. In my experience, your daily online activities may unintentionally 'attract' stalkers, haters and flooded DMs. It is very common that many popular accounts are often hacked, compromised or become victims of phishing. Network does breakdown and internet security can failed too, so be warned! Don't be overly stressed about getting likes, followers, fame and popularity. Everything fades over time, it's a natural cycle. Your real social life is more important than social media. ** Bonus Tips ** Keep your posts fun, positive, educational and entertaining. Have some self-discipline on the contents you post and set the amount time you spend online. Social media addiction can affect greatly on mental health, self-esteem and daily routines. Take a break from social media, enjoy some me-time, connect to nature, spend quality time with your family & dear ones. Occasionally, it is advisable to do some detox spring cleaning, such as deleting old DMs and remove fake accounts, to keep your social media network safe and healthy. Whatever you decide to share on your social media, make sure you feel good, comfortable and be authentic. Share constructive, useful contents to inspire, motivate and encourage others. Spread love, NOT hate! ❤️ Social media is an essential technology in our modern lifestyle, it's fun and awesome to stay connected with friends/family around the world, but remember to be safe, always...Peace & love! 😎 Living in a surreal and competitive world today, we are challenged to cope with emotions, work ethic and tackle different situations everyday. Good interpersonal skills and self-confidence can improve work performance, social equity and welcome new opportunities. Self-confidence is a positive attitude of trusting your own abilities and capabilities. But let's face it, everyone struggle some insecurities, setbacks, self-consciousness at some point or feeling stuck in the hermit mode. It is not always possible to be confident 24/7. Self-confidence isn't an overnight process, but the good news is, we can cultivate and master this skill. There are many ways to build self-confidence that we can practice in our daily life. Speaking from an introvert whom I used to be. Self-confidence can take years to develop, but through life experience, adversity and major breakthroughs, the transition has evaluate my strength, knowledge and confidence today, so let me share some tips and advice from my personal experience. Here are some practical ways to boost Self-confidence : Smile A friendly smile is the best ice-breaker for any social events/activities and meeting new people. Smiles are pleasing and captivating, it makes a person appears warm, lovable and approachable. A genuine smile never goes wrong! Maintain Eye Contact Keep your eyes on the person when you speak, if you feel awkward and uncomfortable looking deep into their eyes, try to look at the nose or the center region of the face. Avoid fidgeting, looking away or glancing your phone. Your body language reflects your confidence. Speak Clearly and Concisely Speak with a bright tone and normal speed. Don't mumble the words or speaking too fast and too soft. Be diplomatic in a conversation and speak tactfully with respect. That way, people are more likely to listen and pay attention to your speech. Keep Your Words If you make a promise or a mutual agreement, be responsible and take ownership. When we uphold our words, we show trust, reliability and the commitments to get things done on schedule. That display high level of confidence. Do The Right Thing I value good morals and justice. At times, you must be bold and speak up for yourself when there is a problem or something is wrong. Confidence is speaking the truth with logic and integrity. Dress Up and Be Well-Groomed The right outfits and make-up can enhance your appearance and boost self confidence. You don't have to dress like a celebrity everyday and you don't need a perfect body to look cool! Dress smart, comfortably and appropriately. Make some efforts to groom yourself, take care of your skin, hair and use some make-ups, you will look radiant and refreshed. When you look good, you will definitely feel more confident. Identify Your Strengths Acknowledge your achievements and focus on your strengths. Everyone has some skills and talents, it could be playing music, writing, cooking/baking, painting, sports etc. If you are passionate and good at something, improvise the skills to develop your creativity and innovations. Self Growth and Self Improvement Read everyday, learn about the world, technologies and upgrade yourself. The world is moving so fast with advanced technologies and new projections for the future. Be well-informed and knowledgeable. An intelligent mind offer constructive ideas and insightful information. Self-acceptance and Know Your Worth Learn to accept who you are and love yourself, no one is perfect but don't settle for less. I believe everyone is unique in their own ways, so never compare yourself to others. We all have different standards and priorities. Don't live by other's opinions, criticisms and validation. Live your life on your own terms, pursue what matters most. Chase your dreams and strive for success! Strong Conversational Skill Effective communication is a powerful skill. Personally, I do not encourage any form of silent treatment. It's boorish, incompetent and unprofessional in my opinion. Silence never resolve any problem, it only cause confusions and distance. Be open to accept feedback and suggestions, express your thoughts and talk things out. Most people don't listen to understand, they listen with the intent to reply. A poor communicator will avoid any discussions and interactions, while a confident speaker will initiate a conversation to resolve conflicts and disputes. Self-confidence is one of the most important traits to success! It doesn't matter what professions, age, gender and ethnicity. Everyone can learn to be confident at any phrase to embrace yourself with intellectual qualities and positive transformation. Self-Confidence is attractive and it's the most beautiful outfit. Wear it and own it! :) |
